With this statement in mind Kirt Holmes has made her boldest move to date, after 10 successful years with her eponymous jewellery line, she has launched a new label under the name a kind of fine, and to celebrate the launch has ‘popped up’ on Camden Passage.
a kind of fine grew out of Kirt’s desire to do things differently, to follow her instincts and heart, it is a thoughtful collection full of symbolism and meaning giving it a depth that makes pieces feel like amulets, heirlooms, something with a history. The collection leans towards fine jewellery while still containing elements of Kirt’s trademark style. Natural, precious, chic is the mood, from gold and silver to feathers, coral and diamonds. It's a love story, a story of slowing down, taking your time, thinking, breathing, appreciating the simple things in life, making the little improvements to your environment which in the end are not little.
For a limited time only, the collection will be available to buy in Kirt’s pop up shop in Islington, in an atmosphere of calm and serenity, alongside carefully selected objects and items - books on love and philosophy, a beautifully scented candle, rocks, gems and geological specimens as well as gorgeous ceramics, hand picked by her to complement the jewellery. Prices start from £115 for a gold ring and each piece of jewellery comes with its own bowl to be kept in, making it a decorative object even when not worn.
The shop will run until January 2012
